If you are planning a dental treatment abroad, dentists usually ask for panoramic x-ray and pictures of your teeth from different angles for planning your treatment. Many of our patients concern about taking the right photos. So,
Here are Tips and tricks for perfect dental photography in the house;
1. Use external selfie light
2. Try to capture just your mouth and teeth if possible
3. Use cheek retractors to retract the lips and cheek, if not available fingers can do the same.
4. Relax your lips – don’t make them tense
5. Keep your teeth together! Bite on your back teeth during the photo
Photos are expected to be taken from front, sides (left-right), upper&lower
Frontal photo
Pull both cheeks outwards and bite on your back teeth.
Side photo
Pull back on one side. On the other side use your fingers to keep lips apart. Take photos from both left and right sides.
Upper & Lower Photo
Upper Photo – Tilt head back and pull cheeks/upper lips in the direction of the top of your head. Try to capture as much of the biting surface of your teeth as possible.
Lower photo – Tilt head down and pull cheeks/lower lips down towards your chin. Keep your tongue towards the back of your mouth. Try to capture as much of the biting surface of your teeth as possible.
